About the Author

Lucien Lee is a martial artist, instructor, and researcher who specialises in medieval European martial arts. He has a particular interest and focus on the messer traditions of the 15th and early 16th centuries. His work combines analysis with hands-on application, drawing from original manuscripts to develop clean and functional interpretations for modern study.

He established Bastion in Singapore in 2017 and serves as its Principal Instructor. The school teaches the German tradition, with its foundation rooted in the practice of the messer. Beyond the classroom, he continues to work with local communities and charities, fostering strong connections through medieval martial arts education and outreach.
